The Rural House "Abuela Ana" dates from the year 1728, belongs to the set of industrial buildings and warehouses that were created for the old Fabrica de Azucar, nineteenth century. This factory, after many closures and reconversions in the flour, honey and oil factories, still exists and functions as an artisan oil mill, where many owners take their crops and pay with part of their "fresh" oil (for immediate consumption) . For the construction of the house, Doña Ageda, who lived in an annexed farmhouse and is still used as a home, brought wood from Cuban ships that docked at the port of Torre del Mar. The owners offered the warehouses as housing to the manager of the factory (my grandfather Esteban) and so it became a home. Ana, his widow, lived here until 2007 and the house has not stopped being a family meeting place for owners and visitors.
