Hotel Soroa is nestled among the Sierra del Rosario, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve blessed with a delicious microclimate – perfect for the 700 varieties of orchids grown here. Built in the 1960s to introduce local tourists to the diverse flora and fauna for which the area is famous, the hotel has since been refurbished and importantly, a pool added.
The garden-flanked pool is the center of the modest hotel complex, with 63 rooms scattered amongst the landscaped grounds. The hotel features two restaurants and three bars. Activities such as horseback riding and guided hikes can be booked at the tourist information desk.
