Sanctuary by the Sea was built in 2007. Situated on 23 acres, it has its own 650 foot long Gulf beach set among the most healthy natural dunes and flora in the Florida Panhandle. Elevator access to the ground floor and then a "no steps" walk to the sand and shore along the boardwalk. The resort abuts Big Redfish Lake, one of the unique dune lakes in the area. Guests can launch their kayaks from the resort's gazebo on the lake. The lake's outfall into the Gulf is a warm, usually shallow spot for young children to splash and play.
