Overall and Pros:
I had a decent experience and impression at Seoul Dongdaemoon Market Guest House. The room I got was clean, tidy and comfortable for one person. It was really nice to have the option to have a laundry machine in the room, but was not able to try it out since I only stayed overnight. I also liked the fact that an electric stove-top, electric kettle, basic pot, pan, mug, and some other kitchen items were also provided. Once again, didn't really get to use it, but great option for those who want to cook simple meals rather than eating out all the time. I love the fact that I could have a access key card to the outside door and my room.
The bedding was clean and simple. I slept comfortably but the mattress may be a little firm for those who like soft mattresses. The floor heating worked great.
Jae Hoon was very helpful and attentive to my questions when I first contacted him about the room. He was also there to greet me and explain everything. The internet was reliable and quick. I needed to make an important Skype call to the U.S., and it was fine. Jae Hoon helped in providing a quiet room (as per requested) and it was! (Thank you Jae Hoon!)
A couple cons suggestions:
The main con was that there was a leak behind the bathroom sink. The water ran straight down to the bathroom floor drain. It didn't bother me so much because in Asia, many showers are in the same space as the toilet space and water runs to the floor drain), but maybe also because I was staying for only one night.
There looked like there was a discoloration on the wall/paper? It didn't take away from the cleanliness of the room and it didn't look like mold, but at first glance, a little distracting.
In Asia, the regular size of the bathroom towels are either a hand towel or a bathmat size. There were three towels provided, so if you're used to large towels in the States, don't expect to have one that wraps around your body.
There is free filtered water available...but it's on the 6th floor, so if you you are on the lower levels, it's probably better to get your own bottle and fill it up once than climb up and down the stairs, unless you want a workout! ...or just buy a large bottle of water at the local convenient store which is what I did.
My time at the guest house was comfortable. It is a simple place, but with surprising functional extras. No problems communicating with Jae Hoon in English. Reliable internet, floor heating and clean.
